Just when you think you are in pretty good shape, things like this come along!
A 93-year-old man has gained a legion of fans in Guangzhou, southern China, after photographs of him working out at a gym appeared online. Granddad Shen Hua, started bodybuilding when he was 70 and still goes to the gym once a day. Although he shows off visible muscles during his work out, Shen says his motivation is to slow down aging, reported People’s Daily Online. Please keep in mind, that he does have another grandpa competitor who also body builds.
Unlike your average pensioner, Shen Hua goes to the gym for at least an hour a day to keep fit. The former salesman claims that he was always too busy working to ever do any exercise. After he retired and his grand child was old enough to look after himself, Shen suddenly started worrying about the effects of aging. He said: ‘When my grandson finished primary school, I was already 70. I started worrying about dying. Shen revealed that he inadvertently stumbled on a body building book that claimed people who worked out could live longer. While most Chinese pensioners would turn to Tai Chi or square dancing, Shen needed something more ‘exciting’.
Good for you homeboy.
